Prenuptial Agreements

Let Us Help - Click to tell us about your case

A Prenuptial Agreement is a contract entered into prior to a marriage which sets forth the property and financial rights of both spouses in the event of a separation or divorce or death. A Postnuptial Agreement is contracted for the same purpose, only it is entered into after the parties have been married.

Even separate or premarital property may become marital if it is combined with joint or marital assets or if it is used to purchase a joint asset. Additionally, the increase in value during the marriage of any separate or premarital assets is considered to be marital. You may have one or a few assets or you may have significant premarital assets you want to protect in the event the marriage does not work out.
