On September 19, 2014, Elderkin attorney Bob LeSuer delivered a presentation at the Erie Bayfront Convention Center entitled "Avoiding Malpractice without Practicing Defensive Medicine", as a portion of the day-long "Focus 2014" seminar presented by Saint Vincent Hospital.
The Focus 2014 seminar followed the theme of the national "Choosing Wisely" initiative, which aims to promote medical care that is supported by evidence, not duplicative of other tests or procedures already received, free from harm and truly necessary for the patient. The seminar was attended by family practice physicians, internists, pediatricians, medical students, nurses and other allied health professionals working in primary care practices in the Erie region.
