May 2009. The Elderkin Law Firm congratulates Northwestern Legal Services on the 40th anniversary of its incorporation. Joseph T. Messina, Esquire, along with Vedder J. White () and Herbert J. Johnson() were among the original incorporators of Northwestern Legal Services.

April 2009. Robert C. LeSuer, Esquire was a presenter at a seminar entitled Who Will Make YOUR Healthcare Decisions? The Coming Allocation of Medical Resources. The seminar was presented by The Coalition of Attorneys and Physicians in Erie (CAPE), a cooperative, interactive, educational program for physicians and attorneys.

January 2008. Joseph T. Messina has been awarded the Robert L. Payton Award for Voluntary Service from the Case District II Council for Advancement and Support of Education. The winner of this award demonstrates leadership in advancement programs, furtherance of the philanthropic tradition, and public articulation of needs, goals, and issues in education.

January 2008. Lori R. Miller will serve as co-coordinator of the Mock Trial Competition sponsored by the Pennsylvania and Erie County Bar Associations and facilitated by the Young Lawyer Division of ECBA. The Mock Trial Competition involves students in grades 9 through 12 planning, preparing, and actually participating in a simulated jury trial.

January 2008. James H. Richardson, Jr. has been re-appointed to chair the Donor Relations Committee for the Mid-Atlantic Shrine Association. He is in charge of guiding the 24 affiliated Mid-Atlantic Shrine Centers in seeking to attract donations to support the Shriners Children's Hospitals.
