Elderkin attorney James H. Richardson, Jr. recently completed an intensive course in mediation training, which qualifies him to serve as a mediator in the resolution of disputes between private parties.
Mediation is a concept of dispute resolution that is based on the principle of self-determination by the participants. The primary function of a mediator is to structure and facilitate a settlement process so that the participants make resolution decisions, in a confidential setting, based on sufficient knowledge and information.
Generally, dispute resolution by mediation is quicker, less expensive, and less emotionally taxing than resolution by litigation.
